Lono has performed for over 20 years on the island of Maui and is well known in his community of musicians and entertainment. After focusing on Island Style music for many years, Lono has returned to his roots in the Hawaiian Culture. His conversations and blessings with Uncle Eddie Kamae, Steve Siegfried of Panini Records encouraged him to move forward with this recording. Old Style is a tribute and a remix of the folk songs performed by the Sons of Hawaii Renaissance & Gabby Recordings produced over 30 years ago. The original artists include Pops Gabby Pahinui, Eddie Kamae, Moe Keale, Joe Marshall and David Rogers. Old Style music is traditional, nahenahe (soft) and easy listening, just as it was when he was a young boy listening to their music.

Lono plays all the instruments and sings vocals. He is packaged as a musician, composer, engineer and producer. This is his first project for which he is going public with PA LEO HAWAII, LLC as his distributor. He is very proud to be included in the camp of some of the Old Style and new musicians such as Genoa Keawe, John Keawe, Palani Vaughn and Jake Shimabukuro. Lono has recorded and performed in Chicago on specific events with Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Christopher Cross, Jeff Webb (composer for songs sung by Glen Campbell), and many others.

The little boy photo you see on the back cover is the elementary student on the island of Molokai where he grew up. At the age of 14 he had a great desire to play football and was given the opportunity after moving to Waianae with his Grandparents. He became a Waianae Searider on Oahu. He attended UH as a freshman and while dorming he met friends with the same passion of playing Old Style music. Norman Solomon is one to mention and many others. They all had common objectives: school, football and music. He later moved to Maui where he developed and composed his own Island Style music. He produced 5 CDs that were all sold only at gigs. His music is heard regularly on the radio air waves on Maui.

Today Lono concentrates solely on his Old Style tribute to yesteryear. Working with a distributor, promotions & marketing on Oahu through out the islands and worldwide. Please come see Lono at any of his scheduled performances.
