At the end of the 13th mile marker on the eastend, Moloka'i, you will see a sign titled, "Hawaiian Crafts". This man, Frank Pave, creates one of Moloka'is hidden treasures. With his hands and his assistant, Kalani, they have created these treasures. The shells you see are opihi. Frank picks up the opihi himself in the high surf and in calm waters on the cliffs of the north shores of Moloka'i. His Hawaiian traditions allow him to lean on his culture for his survival today. He is hardworking and employs other Hawaiians. The seeds of many Hawaiian trees are incorporated in his work. He is the creator of this beautiful aloha art. His smile is recognizable in his work. His kindness comes through as soon as you meet him. If you wish to see and purchase his work, you will need to contact him at (808) 558-8252. Please approach him with aloha ~ it is Hawaiian and it is his culture, from Moloka'i. Aloha.
